2001 Dear Parishioners: Just a few notes:
Reflect on the "Star of Promise" meditation on ADVENT FOLDER November
14: Wednesday November 14 is the Feast of St. Phillip. An old-age custom:
According to tradition, the "Phillip Fast" in preparation for
Christmas begins today. During this fast, it was the custom to observe a strict
fast on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and a lesser fast on Tuesday and Thursday.
This fast may be observed voluntarily, partially, or in its entirety. It's up to
you! November
17&18: Saturday & Sunday Saturday & Sunday November 17&18
there will be a 2nd collection that will go towards Thanksgiving Baskets which
will be distributed to parishioners. November
21: Wednesday, Solemn Holy day: Presentation of the Blessed Mother in the
Temple with 7pm Liturgy. November
22: On Thanksgiving Day November 22 Liturgy will be celebrated at 8 am November
25th: NO class Nov.
29. 30: Nut & Poppyseed
rolls: HELP IS NEEDED Nov. 29. 30. make & bake. The sale will start on
Friday 30th AFTER 4 pm & after Liturgies December 1. 2. Ann Freeze, Theresa
Sabol & Margo Danchison will take orders @\$7.00 each. DECEMBER
2nd: Sunday Liturgy (Mass) time change will begin on SUNDAY DECEMBER 2nd
thru March: 8:30 am instead of 10:30 am. This will be our "winter"
schedule. Confessions on these Sundays will be heard from 8:00 am-8:20 am. Take
advantage of this opportunity before Christmas ! December
2nd: Sunday All children are invited to Christmas Party in Church Hall
from l-3pm. Classes in Religion
for our children starting in December will be from 9:30-10:30 am. December
6: Thursday Feast of St. Nicholas. Liturgy 7 pm., Father Ed's ' 40th
Anniversary of ordination to the priesthood (Dec.6, 1961). December
7: Friday Distribution of Holy Communion to shut-ins 9 am start December
8: Saturday Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Liturgy 9 am. Vigil
Liturgy as per usual for Sunday obligation 6 pm. December
8: Sunday December 9 Saturday/ Sunday, Father Ed's Anniversary
celebration. December
15: Saturday CLEANING OF CHURCH HALL 9 am. Help needed December
16: Sunday, Altar & Rosary Society / men Christmas Party December
22 Decorating Church for Christmas SATURDAY 9 am START December

&25 THERE
WILL BE A 12 MIDNIGHT CHRISTMAS EVE LITURGY & 10:30
am Christmas Day
Liturgy. Make plans to attend. ONE
CHANGE IN 2002. THERE WILL BE 2 Liturgies on HOLYDAY OF OBLIGATION DAYS: 9 am
& 7 pm and NO Vigil anticipation Liturgy for Holy day of obligation 2002
